Paradise

We live here! Coming home is never a drag, well except the work part. We stayed an extra day in Rock Hall. Great marina and pool.

Blake and Joanne continue the journey now! We wish them fair winds and all that jazz!

Already planning for next year.

Sunburn

Yes, we had sun and wind yesterday. We had some good sailing for a while. Ran out of some supplies, but marinas on Maryland's Eastern Shore are very limited.

Back up...

On Wednesday night we stayed in Maynadier Creek, Brown's Cove. Beautiful. We had a chilly swim. Lots of ducks, swans,

If I can get pictures uploaded today, you will see the little boat docked near us. The Amanda Cay,

Foggy morning on Thursday, but we headed out to cross the Bay and in to the Chester River. We chose Langford Creek. Added bonus is that we could dinghy up to Maryland's first Episcopal church to visit the shrine of Talluhua Bankhead. Not sure I spelled that right. The water was only a few inches deep, very funky and there were strange white blobs swiming very fast across the bottom. We did not find the church. Plan is to find it on our way by car on Saturday..

Coffee and off to Rock Hall, Maryland. More Later!

Leaving in the mist

We left Annapolis in fog and mist, heading up the Severn River to Little Round Bay, St. Helen Island. Weather has once again chosen our destination for us. That's okay. We had a great visit in Annapolis. Ready for the privacy of an anchorage. Going to explore on the dinghy. We met some great folks.

Everything is damp, but our spirits. We are having a great time just doing what is directed by the next moment. More later...

What day is this?

Morning swim Dun Cove! Ahhhh
Okay, I have lost track of time. I know this, I could probably sail away for real, if I could get back to see family and friends whenever I want.

We got in to Annapolis yesterday just before the wind and rain began. I got a bit nervous getting Amante into the slip at City Dock. Then, boats twice our size just breezed on in.

We had dinner at Ram's Head Tavern then went in to the next room to see Little Feat. Great show. After the show we just stood around talking to the band. Just all very casual. They are a friendly bunch.

Awoke this morning to steady 30 mph wind with gusts to 40 or so. We are going to just sit tight here in Annapolis for another night. Not a bad place to be stuck. Boaters are the friendliest people ever and always have a story to tell.

Dun Cove

I said the only way I would go see Hank was if we got free tickets. Well, we did. This guy just walked up to us and gave us tickets. It was okay.

Cloudy morning, nice breeze, great sleep.

More late. Still working on pictures.

On to Solomon's Island

Left Rock Dock 7:40. Another great morning. More later, hopefully pictures.

Left Little Wicomico Rover, sailed really good for about 1.5 hours. The strong wind quit blowing soft across our shoulders. Motored on to Solo Mon's (rasta pronounciation) Island.

Very busy, very windy. Air show going on now. Hank William's Jr tonight!

I have finally gotten passed the I should be doing something phase. David, being more experienced at this phase and being a first rate captain, showed me the way.

We had flies and dragonflies. If I could get the pictures to upload....Will upload them to shuterfly. Check Ross-Sailingaway on that sight

Off do to some walking around. More tomorror.

Free

Left Urbanna Harbor at 8:00 a.m. Beautiful morning. Getting ready to put up the sails. Pictures and more exciting reading when we reach our first port. Heading to Smith Point to see Ernie and Pam. Amante will take her rest at Leonard Rock's dock. Already feeling so relaxed. ...

We made in to the Rock dock , really a rocky dock. If I can get the pictures on this thing, you. will see what I'm talking about. Arrived there 4:20. Motored from Urbanna to windmail point, sailed from windmill point to smith point, perfect slow sail for us.

We had too much fun catching up with Pam and Ernie. great food. They have a beatiful view!!

Great first day. Injuries: 1 bandaid on toe, three bumps on head, one bruise on hip. Not bad.

David only said, "Where are you going? Oh, yeah, that's right, continue on." about 3 times. We both napped a lot.

Just a day or two more of packing and making notes before the adventure begins. Lots of bags, groceries, music, books and good wishes from friends. Thank you for the picture Miss Dee, beach buddy.

More later.
